UZC Partners with Gucci to Launch Capsule Fashion Line, Honoring Textile Artistry

UZC and Gucci have unveiled Ephemeral Threads, a capsule collection of modular apparel designed to challenge traditional fashion consumption. The line, curated by textile artist Elena Marquez, features garments composed of interchangeable fabric panels embedded with RFID chips. Buyers can scan panels via Gucci’s app to unlock styling tutorials, care instructions, or trade them for new designs through Gucci’s circular commerce platform.

Marquez’s work, celebrated at Milan Fashion Week, merges zero-waste laser-cutting techniques with AI-generated patterns that evolve based on weather data. Each piece in the collection uses 30% recycled materials, with a detachable outer shell made from ocean-bound plastics. UZC’s teams in Florence and Milan orchestrated the technical integration, ensuring seamless functionality across physical and digital touchpoints.

Gucci’s Creative Director remarked: “Elena’s approach turns clothing into a living archive. This collection isn’t about trends—it’s about longevity.” The line will launch in 25 boutiques worldwide, accompanied by an augmented reality campaign where users can visualize how panels combine via Gucci’s virtual try-on tool.
