UZC x Kering Sustainable Value Chain

Addressing fashion’s carbon crisis, UZC collaborated with Kering in 2025 on "SUSTAINABLE ICONS" redesigning luxury value chains via blockchain-powered CRADLE-TO-CRADLE system tracking: carbon emissions through RFID-chipped garments, chemical validation of eco-dyes via material database, and digital passports documenting artisan welfare. At Milan Fashion Week flagship project, Paris haute couture team fused Rococo embroidery with mycelium-grown bio-fabrics, Mumbai center preserved endangered Kolam patterns through AI algorithms, while LA lab created "Carbon Dome" installation visualizing garment lifecycles with Megapixel projection.

Satellite IoT tracked supply chains from Mongolian cashmere farms to Italian ateliers, establishing luxury’s first real-time Scope 3 emissions monitor. The initiative increased Kering’s recycled material usage from 31% to 69%, boosted sustainable perception by 83%, winning 2026 Design Museum Sustainable Design Award. UZC Amsterdam Hub has launched open-source material library providing verified eco-formulas to global designers.
